A soldier, then an engineer. Now the man on your street.
I spent ten years in the Army wanting to wear green for the rest of my life, then ten more in manufacturing falling in love with process and cutting out waste. This year my wife Danielle and I had enough saved to build something of our own.
The crew is small on purpose — guys I have known for years, W2 employees on my own equipment, trained to do the work the way I would do it myself. Most days I am right out there with them.
I am pretty psycho about the bushes getting done every time we go out — and not charging more for the time it took. I treat those houses like they are my own.
We showed up to stain a customer’s fence and the worst storm in three weeks rolled in on top of us. We came back to finish it. To reach the far side I climbed through a neighbor’s yard, over the fence, through the rocks, into another neighbor’s yard, and pulled vines off by hand. We did not upcharge him a dollar. The price was the price.

01How often do you come out?
Weekly or biweekly depending on the season and how your lawn is growing. Same crew, same day, so you always know when to expect us.
02Do I get charged extra for leaves in the fall?
No. Leaf control and fall gutter cleaning are part of the annual package. We do not hit you with a separate cleanup fee when the season turns.
03My yard is completely overgrown. Is that a problem?
That is our favorite call. Big cleanups and brush removal are what we do most, and it is usually how new customers start with us before going onto a recurring schedule.
04What areas do you cover?
Acworth, Dallas, Marietta and West Marietta, Powder Springs, plus Kennesaw, Woodstock, Hiram and Cartersville. If you are close to the line, just ask.
05Are you insured?
Yes. Burnt Hickory Lawn & Garden is a registered LLC and fully insured, and the crew are W2 employees working on our equipment.
